The Customs Committee of the State Council issued a notice to adjust the reduction of tariffs on some imported goods originating in the United States.

In order to promote the healthy and stable development of economic and trade relations between China and the United States, the Customs Committee of the State Council has decided in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Customs Law of the People’s Republic of China, the Foreign Trade Law of the People’s Republic of China, and the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Import and Export Tariffs and basic principles of international law, Adjust the tariff reduction decision on about 75 billion US dollars of imports originating in the United States.

Reduce tariffs on approximately $ 75 billion in imports originating in the United States

  • (1) Starting from February 14, 2020, the tax rate will be adjusted to 5% for goods that have been levied a 10% tariff on September 1, 2019.
  • (2) For goods with a 5% tariff, the tax rate is adjusted to 2.5%.

  • In addition to the above measures, other tariff measures on the United States continue to be implemented in accordance with regulations.


    China hopes that both parties can abide by the agreement, strive to implement the relevant content of the agreement, strengthen market confidence, promote the development of bilateral economic and trade relations, and promote world economic growth.
