U.S. Beef Exports to China
U.S. Beef exports to China must meet specified requirements under the AQSIQ Export Verification Program.
These requirements apply to U.S. companies – slaughterers, fabricators, and/or processors – that supply beef and beef products as listed on the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service.

FSIS Documentation Requirements:
All FSIS export certificates accompanying the product must be signed by a FSIS veterinarian. The veterinary degree (DVM or equivalent) must be indicated after the signature.
Labeling Requirements:

- Country of origin
- Establishment number
- Production date
- Expiration date, storage period, or shelf life
- Storage temperature
- Country of destination
- Net weight (English)
- Inspection legend (English)
- Name and address of Company (English)
- Production Lot number (as defined by the exporter)
- Specification (refers to packaging type)
- Product name
- Country of origin
- Establishment number
- Production Lot number (as defined by the exporter)
Other Requirements:
For eligible beef and beef products, the storage and transportation will be under suitable temperature maintaining the core temperature (inside temperature) of the frozen beef no higher than 5°F and chilled beef between 32°F and 39.2°F, separately.
Beef Feed additives requirements:
Eligible beef products exported to China should not contain growth promotants, feed additives and other chemical compounds including ractopamine, prohibited by China’s law and regulation. Beef shipments detected with prohibited substance or compounds at the port of entry will be rejected, returned to the US or destroyed.
